All Residential and Commercial users connected to the Public Water and Sewer System shall pay a bi-monthly Maintenance Fee/Readiness to Serve Charge for water service and sewer service.
Utility bills not paid in full by the due date will incur a 10% late fee charge. The Village will send out a late notice/shut off notice around 15 days after your bill is due.
Any bills not paid within 60 days of the billing date will be subject to shut off (30 days past due date). In the event that your services are shut off, a $30 turn on / turn off fee will be applied to your account. Payment in full including the turn on / turn off fee must be paid before water service will be turned back on.
Reminder to our residents that go South for the winter, please stop in the office if you wish to have your water shut off. There is a $15 charge for this service. Water and Sewer Maintenance Fees/Ready to Serve will continue to be charged to the account.
Also let the Clerk know of your address you wish to receive your bill through the winter months.
New homeowners or landlords bringing in new tenants should contact the Village Clerk's office at 989-674-2244 to update billing information. When the responsibility of the water, sewer and trash accounts is to be in a new tenant's name, a $250 deposit will be required along with the Renter Responsible Party Form and a copy of the signed lease.
The bulk water vendor is located on the south side of the DPW building. The vendor takes cash and coins and does not provide change. You will need your own 4" pipe to access.
The Village does not provide a special water meter or adjust sewer charges for filling swimming pools. Another option is to use a water hauling service to fill the pool.
The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) Rule requires community water supplies to annually report to their customers on the quality of the drinking water and the sources of that water, and to characterize the risks (if any) from exposure to contaminants detected in the water.
